Qualification

In Thailand a TEFL certificate is now necessary even if you already have a degree. TEFL course will give you a lot more confidence standing in front of a group of people and it will you give you an insight into teaching methodology but it will not turn you into a teacher. In the current scenario therefore, the basic qualification for teaching English is an undergraduate degree in any subject, plus a TESL / TEFL / TESOL certificate.
