Special Thai Project - Chiang Mai

An International TESOL Certification; a guaranteed short-term ESL-teaching job in an invigorating setting of a Thai school; a vacation that is filled with riveting cultural experiences – the Special Thailand Project conducted by American TESOL Institute in Chiang Mai promises to unleash your spree to explore the thrills of Thailand and the world of TEFL teaching.

The Special Thai Project is a winning combination of

  • An intensive in-class three weeks TESOL Certificate Program in Chiang Mai, followed by

  • An ESL job program for four months with free accommodation provided

What is STP?
The Special Thai Project (STP) is unique in its concept. It provides the opportunity to spend five months in Thailand, experience the local culture, interact with the people, taste the regional food and at the same time earn a teaching qualification and get paid for all of this. Sounds unbelievable?! It is true! The project involves a three-week TESOL Certification Course followed by 4 months of teaching in a Thai school.

Is it for you?
Are you just out of university and looking for some excitement in life? Do you wish to travel to places that you have only read about but don’t have the means? Are you stagnating in your present job and want a career change? Have you been a teacher all your life but want to teach in another country or a different set or level of students? If the answer to any of the above is yes, then the Special Thai Project is for you. It helps you earn while you travel, it gives you the opportunity to just not be a bumbling traveler but someone who is willing to contribute to society while you travel. It gives you the scope to interact with young minds. It helps you assimilate and understand new cultures, people, sample new food and take in sites and sounds that otherwise would have been impossible to experience.

In order to stand eligible as a TESOL trainee, all you need to be is above the age of 21, a native English speaker with a degree as qualification.

Why should you do the STP?
Many people complete a Teacher Training Course but then spend a couple of months applying for a job, going for interviews, getting paper work organized in trying to get a job. But once you have enrolled in the STP program, all you have to do is plan for your trip, buy your ticket and the rest is our headache. From the time you land at the Chiang Mai/Phuket Airport to completing the course and your four-month paid internship is our responsibility. So you not only qualify as a TESOL Trained Teacher but also have the experience to back your resume, which helps you get better jobs later.

After the STP program you have the option of continuing as a regular school teacher or you can be absorbed as corporate trainers, Language School trainers, Voice and accent trainers and Soft skill trainers. With the growing need for learning English in Non English speaking nations the demand far exceeds the supply. So there is never a dearth of teaching opportunities for TESOL trained teachers.
