Andrew Stiles, USA
I wanted to travel and do something new. I wanted to take on the challenge of teaching and push myself to do something I have not always been comfortable with like public speakers etc. I am glad I did because I really to make my contribution as a TESOL teacher. I really enjoyed this course.
Elizabeth Costello, USA
I have wanted to teach abroad for a while and have spent time looking up different programs. Thailand has always appealed to me because of the welcoming culture. This program gave me the opportunity to take a class here, be immersed into the culture, while making friends and beginning to feel comfortable in Thailand, before teaching.
Rebecca Clough
USA
To get certificate and to get a guaranteed English teaching placement the short duration of the teaching, 4 months, was especially attractive.

Been to Thailand before and loved it, wanted to return. 4-5 month teaching contract was more attractive than 1 year contact.

I have always had a desire to do charity work in a third world country. The concept of giving without taling is so appealing to me. I feel, that is when you grow as a person.
My education was 4 years. Therefore I have a huge amount of debt. I kept post my desire to do chantey work because I felt I could not afford to not make money.

With the TESOL program I felt I was to able help give beck while still maintaining a small income.

I chose to take this project because I felt the need to get a solid base of teaching theory and practice before I dove into the realm of teaching English as a foreign language. I plan on teaching English in more than just Thailand and so in order to get jobs via the internet a certification such as TESOL or TEFL is necessary. This course seemed like the best option.
Dylan
USA
I chose to take this project because I thought it was the best option for what I was looking for also course was recommended by a foreign trainee who rightly praised it.

I wanted to come to Thailand and this program was presented to me via internet. 4 months is a good starting time, and Phuket was great.

My previous teaching experience coupled with my last overseas experience made this opportunity a perfect fit for me. So for it has been everything I could have hope for and I hope it only gets better.
Miranda Cooper
Chicago, IL
I was looking for a project overseas to engage in before I went to tradition school in Chicago and a friend suggested teaching overseas. This project was perfect as I have always wanted to visit SE Asia and the time frame of 4-5 months was perfect for my needs. On top of getting paid, they give you a placement at a school and help with your VISA, two things I would have no idea how to do. The price was very manageable and after talking to Jess from ATI, I was convinced the program was a great idea. Very, very glad. I decided to come!

I wanted to teach in Thailand but I was not confident getting my certificate in the states and hoping I could find a job over the internet. This allowed me to adapt to Thai culture, meet other people doing something similar, and guaranteed me a job.
Kathryn
I took up this project because I wanted to experience a different culture in a completely foreign part of the world.
Lucas Brunette

I chose this project as I had been working for 4 years in a company and was looking for a change. A change in jobs was not really at the top of the list but something more challenging and personally developing. I look forward to looking back years from now and reflecting on the impact this course and project has had.
Andy Fuller
USA
I chose this project because it provided a job for the course. I love working with and helping young people. Also, I am planning on getting a master in TEFL. so it will be good for my resume. Additionally, I had been to Thailand before and I knew I would lose living here.
Garrett McDaniel
USA
I heard Thailand was a great island and this was the first program to accept me.
Anna Hovenkamp
USA
I chose American TESOL Institute for many reasons. First of all, I wanted to take a class in the country I am going to be teaching in. We have been able to practice teaching in Thai class room which has been extremely helpful.

I also chose this course because of the shorter contract length and the fact that they take care of job placement details.

It’s been a great experience and I’d recommend it to any one.
Heather Campbell

I was not satisfied wit my current job and I wanted to try a job that was more rewarding. I also wanted to visit Thailand. So far I have really enjoyed my experience. Hopefully teaching will remain exciting.
Bonnie Vetterli

Sonya Taylor
I thought it would be fun to teach English in another country. Thailand was inexpensive and pays well. This project is great because it is temporary-gives me a chance to try it out and see if I like it.
Karen Wieler
Canada
I chose this project because I was guaranteed a job afterward. I also wanted to do this project because the job contract was short. I did not want to commit for a whole year. The location was also a deciding factor.
