Students Feedback

Vivien Krepp, Australia
I have been teaching pre-employment skills to school leavers with an intellectual disability for nearly 20 years. I saw this project as an opportunity to change direction. I have a TESOL certificate from Sydney, Australia but I thought this project would help me to get work in Thailand. I have been Thailand as a tourist & have enjoyed the culture, the people & the beautiful country.

Jared Boune, USA
I want to travel and work and live abroad. I plan to teach in the future and TESOL certification opens many doors abroad. The 6 months commitment to the course was also attractive. This should be great for classroom experience and should let me know if a teaching career is for me. I have done a fair amount of travelling and leaving abroad and most travelers speak highly of Thailand Its beaches, culture and religion all fascinate me and I am very interesting in learning as much as I can about it while meeting new friends from around the globe.

Colin Scobett, Australia
Recommended by friend who has done this course. Beautiful country + people

Bryan Lirette, Texas
Looks like good experience. Beach, Jungle, Many Thai fun adventure.

Michael C Reed, USA

Masselis Damien, USA
The path to my dream of life makes me travel a lot, and eventually live in Thailand for a few years. Teaching is the best way to integrate local life and be useful to the country. So here I am. I have been travelling here from the month last year, made a lot of friends, love the country, its culture, its easy going life, its people ,its food.

Hans Van Houten, USA
My future plan is to become a teacher in USA. And what better way to prepare for that than get experience teaching. I also wanted to travel and learn about a different culture. I researched Thailand and everything I came across was positive information. I have had friends travel to Thailand and they loved it, so that had a large impact on my choice to come to Thailand.

Joseph L. CrawFord, USA
I love to teach and have a passion to travel. Also this location was great for its weather and surrounding countries. My church, in the USA has 14 orphanages in Thailand and Cambodia in which I plan to visit and volunteer.

Kali Nicholson, England
For the location and for the purpose of travelling and living abroad. Learning about a new culture. The culture being so different from my own and the weather !

Adam Gabriele, USA
I choose TESOL because it had a shorter commitment than most programs and it offered placement in several countries that I am interested in visiting. I choose Thailand because I knew that it was the most developed of the South Asian countries. Having never been to this part of the world I figured the culture shock would be less extreme. Also I am a student of history and always been fascinated with the Ayutthaya epoch.

Kris Stallworthy, England
My long term plans are to become a qualified teacher in the UK. This project suited my time scale and previous projects were reviewed well on the internet. I see this as a great opportunity to get teaching practice and a good feel for the profession. I have visited Thailand on several occasions and really like it here. The opportunity to spend a longer period of time in the country and to really appreciate the culture was impossible to turn down.

Katie Chisholm, USA
I had been working in corporate America in New York city and wanted to exit that world to try teaching. I had always loved travelling and wanted to get into ESL education. This project allowed me to coordinate teaching and travelling, thus I am here. I had always wanted to travel to South East Asia and had heard wonderful things about Thailand and Thai people. This program allowed me to travel to Thailand and be introduced to the Thai culture which I am very excited about.

A Joshua Campbell, USA
I am a recent college graduate with desire to make teaching a career. I have experience teaching children creative writing and enjoyed thoroughly. Travelling is a strong passion of mine since childhood and the ATI course seems the ideal choice in combining my profession with my passion. I choose Thailand because South East Asia is an area I never been to. New experience are always enjoyable and I welcome them. Thai people are known for hospitality and the country as well as culture are known to exotic, especially for an American.

Rachel Lackey, USA
The short time commitment was a perfect fit for my life at the time and it seemed so different from other programs. I am interested in Asian culture and love the food, the religion and cultural aspects involved with teaching overseas.

Genevieve Ennis, USA
I have always have a heart for children and have worked with inner city children in California for over 4 years. I graduated in May and soon after moved to South Korea to teach. I released that I enjoy working with under privileged children and also children that have grown up in different environments than I am accustomed. I am excited to begin teaching. I backpacked around Thailand and South Asia in 2007 and fell in love with Thailand and its people. I came here a month prior to the program to volunteer with a Thai NGO in Chain Mai and have enjoyed my time here thus far.
